Hartalega Scores Hat Trick on Forbes Asia

KUALA LUMPUR (5^th December): Glove manufacturers HARTALEGA HOLDINGS BERHAD has been named as one of the best performing listed companies in 2012 in Asia with sales revenue under US$1 billion by Forbes Asia for the third year running.

Hartalega first made it to the list in 2010.

As the world's largest producer of premium quality nitrile gloves, Hartalega has an nnual production capacity in excess of 10 billion pieces of gloves.

In a statement Wednesday, Hartalega managing director Kuan Mun Leong said that it was an honour for the company to be selected by Forbes Asia for the third year running and to be recognised for making an impact in the industry.

"As the Group continues on its growth path, our manufacturing efficiency and the production capacity improvements we have in the pipeline will enable us to tap into key emerging markets in the region, including China and India.

"Given our strong operational capabilities and technological innovation, we remain well-positioned to ride the swelling wave of demand for our top-of-the-line nitrile gloves," said Kuan.

Among the criteria to be included into the Forbes Annual List are profitability, sustained sales growth, strong earning growth and return on equity.

Out of the 200 Asian companies on the Forbes list, Hartalega is one of the 14 public listed companies on Bursa Malaysia selected for 2012 and is the only glove manufacturer to appear on the list.

Hartalega is also one of only two Malaysian companies that have appeared on the list for three consecutive years.
